The General Federation of Chambers of Commerce plans to launch an e-payment and financial education initiative for its members next month, with the support of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with Visa International and major Egyptian companies and bodies.
FEDCOC secretary general Dr. Alaa Ezz, said that the Federation seeks through the initiative to raise awareness of electronic payments and financial education to all its 4.3 million members through seminars and workshops in all governorates, focusing on small and micro enterprises, and the availability of digital payment technology.
Ezz pointed out the importance of enhancing cooperation with the international financial institutions to serve the trade sector by exploring opportunities for cooperation with these institutions, especially those concerned with financial coverage, which will reflect on the performance of the internal trade sector in Egypt and contribute to supporting small and medium enterprises in the national economy.
