Report on the visit of Chinese Delegation to Cairo Chamber

In view of the vital role of Cairo Chamber in promoting and increasing trade exchange, economic relations, and investments between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the countries of the world, for finding appropriate means of communication between Egyptian and foreign exporters, importers and producers.

 

From this concept Eng. Ibrahim Elaraby, Cairo Chamber’s Chairman, Eng. Sameh Zaky, Cairo Chamber’s Board Member, Dr. Laila Al-Bailiy, Cairo Chamber’s Board Member, Mr. Khaled Mustafa, Head of Commercial and Economic Affairs Sector, Ms. Amira Ahmed, General Director of Public Relations Department, Mr. Mohamed Samir, Director of Public Relations Department, and Ms. Yasmin Medhat, second specialist at public relations Department .

At the beginning of the meeting, Eng. Ibrahim Al-Arabi welcomed Mr. Zhou Jia-rong and expressed his happiness with the visit. He said that the visit is expected to result in increasing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and expressed his desire to visit the province to identify the market in the province.

 

Eng. Sameh Zaky said that Cairo Chamber was held in 1913 and is one of the largest public institutions that works to find the appropriate means of communication between Egyptian and foreign exporters, importers and investors and seeks to find opportunities for integrated cooperation.

 

He stressed the importance of increasing cooperation and providing many services, mainly are  informing the chamber members of international and local exhibitions and conferences as well as export and import opportunities, exchanging trade delegations between the country to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, preparing researches and economic studies and monthly reports of many commodities to identify the market situation and help solve the problems facing the trader. The Chamber has more than 60 commercial departments representing all commercial activities, Issuing certificates of activity to extract the commercial register. The Chamber's retail academy was also established as a training, guidance and educational academy for the service of traders. it provides many training courses like  Sales and Marketing - Information Technology - Human Resource Development .

 

Cairo Chamber of Commerce also attained  ISO 26000 certification for the Chamber's commitment to Social responsibility through transparent behavior in the framework of community responsibility and Implementing the training program for employment .

 

Mr. Zu Jia Rong expressed his great pleasure in visiting the Chamber and visiting the Arab Republic of Egypt as it is his first visit to Egypt and will take only three days, but he hopes to secondly  visit Egypt for a longer time so that he could visit all tourist and archaeological sites in Egypt wishing this visit will lead to increase cooperation between the two countries. He noted that the Egyptian economy has developed in comparison to the past years, especially after the revolution of 25 January and defined the Silk Road as a way to facilitate trade exchange between China and other countries such as India, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. He also reported that South China has all industrial activities and northern China has all agricultural activities and there are many new factories established between north and south.

 

He gave a brief overview of the Chinese province of Xinjiang, which is one of the most famous provinces for its economic, industrial, trade and tourism prosperity. The province, in cooperation with all the global economic communities, helped to increase its economic growth significantly.

 

the province includes the most important industries like machines - electronics - electrical engineering equipment - pharmaceuticals - chemical products - cars and spare parts - clothing and textiles - food and beverage - tea - agricultural products - paper products.

 

Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby expressed his great satisfaction with the Province economic progress and expressed his desire to visit the province with a delegation from Cairo Chamber’s Board Members to see this progress and identify the needs of the market and the opportunities of import and export.

 

Zhou Jia-rong welcomed the proposed visit and said he would arrange for a trade delegation from Cairo Chamber of Commerce, headed by Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, and noted that April and September were the most favorable months in terms of moderate weather. Zhou Jiarong expressed his desire to conduct a Chinese exhibition in Egypt under the auspices of Cairo Chamber of Commerce to promote the products of the province and to provide all the information about  the International Trade Promotion Council to the Egyptian side.

 

Eng. Ibrahim El Araby requested requested  from the Public Relations Department the beginning of the arrangement for this visit

He also asked Mr. Mohamed Abdullah to conduct a seminar on how to import from China and know the reliable Chinese companies to avoid any problems.

 

Mr. Mohamed Abdullah, said that the current situation in Egypt has become much better due to the new investment law and the committee for raising production capacities between Egypt and China and the initiative of the Belt and Road Fair.

 

At the end of the meeting, Eng. Ibrahim Al-Arabi and Mr. Zu Jia Rong signed a protocol of cooperation between the International Trade Promotion Council of China's Xinjiang Province and Cairo Chamber of Commerce, then Mr. Zu Jia Rong thanked  Cairo Chamber’s Chairman and Board Members and the Executive staff for their warm reception, wishing to increase cooperation with the Chamber, which is one of the most important institutions that are working to increase trade exchange between Egypt and China.
