A number of members of the Vegetable and Fruit Division at Cairo Chamber revealed that they expect stabilizing prices in their sector during the coming period as a result of beginning the winter planting period in which increases the supply and therefore prices stabilize.

This came after the restructuring the Board of Directors of the Division for about 4 years, the Division's Board of Directors chose Sunny Chairman, Hatem ElNajib and Gamal Alaam as deputies first and second, Gmal Welian as General Secretary. The selection of the Board of Directors and the Bureau was by acclamation.

Hatem ElNajib Deputy Chairman of the Division, said that prices are stable in this sector during the present days, expecting lower prices for some vegetables by 25%, the result of providing the winter crop for markets in coming few days, therefore Prices will fall in wholesale and should also fall in the retail market as prices in the market are subject to supply and demand mechanisms.
