Traders: The decision of putting prices requires a period of time for full commitment.

A situation of discrepancy between the statements of those responsible for the decision on putting prices on the packages of products in the markets and confirming the commitment of traders to apply it and the actual reality in many markets, which revealed the lack of putting prices and many traders ignored the decision as traders pointed out that the market in this situation will take a period of time ranging From 6 months to a year to adjust the markets and record the price of goods in all shops and commercial markets .

 

 

 

Although the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade stressed the need to implement the decision to compel producers to put prices  during the packaging of food products, at the beginning of the year, the commercial street ignored this decision in lack of control and exchanging accusations between traders and producers who did not commit to printing prices on products .  The reason behind this uncontrolled situation is a transitional stage that must be fought to create the market in addition to that there is a stock of goods without price tags still exists because of the recession.

 

 

 

It was found that prices are not put on any commodity, especially basic and food, and only the price on the shelves and supermarkets, especially in the popular and remote areas, amid the difference in prices of goods from place to place, as well as lack of knowledge of many traders about the decision.

 

 

 

Ahmed Yahiya, head of the grocery division and Cairo Chamber’s Board Member confirmed that more than one million small traders in the republic in the field of grocery and food division represents a large segment. He welcomed the decision of the Minister of Supply not to confiscate the non-price products only after issuing three warnings, during the inspection campaigns.
