Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, inaugurated the “Galva Engineering Industries” complex in 6th of October City, affiliated with El Ashry Steel Group, during his tour to inspect and inaugurate a number of factories and production facilities. The visit was attended by Eng. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, Dr. Ahmed El Ansary, Governor of Giza, and Mr. Ayman El Ashry, Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of El Ashry Steel Group, in addition to several heads of chambers of commerce and members of the Chamber’s board of directors.
During his tour of the complex, the Prime Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting and strengthening the role of the private sector and increasing its contribution to economic and development activities. He stressed the continuation of efforts to localize strategic industries and transfer the latest industrial technologies, especially in the iron and steel sector, in order to meet local market needs, support national projects, and boost export opportunities to global markets.
The Minister of Industry stated that “Galva Engineering Industries” represents a successful model of modern national industry through reliance on advanced technology and deepening local manufacturing, which supports the state’s plans to increase production, exports, and employment opportunities.
During the inspection tour, Mr. Ayman El Ashry reviewed the production and technological capabilities of the complex, explaining that it is built on an area of 54,500 square meters, with investments amounting to EGP 30 billion and a local content ratio of 75%. He noted that it is considered one of the largest integrated industrial projects in the engineering and metal industries sector.
He added that the complex includes an advanced factory for poles and steel structures with a production capacity of up to 8,000 tons per month, including polygonal poles, tapered poles, high mast poles, and steel towers, in addition to lattice towers, cable trays, and production lines for metal pipes of various sizes, with a production capacity reaching 2,500 tons monthly.
The Prime Minister also toured the galvanizing plant, which includes one of the largest hot-dip galvanizing stations in the Middle East and Africa, utilizing advanced Italian technology and achieving a production capacity of up to 10,000 tons per month. He was briefed on the processing stages, zinc baths, and automated production lines within the factory.
Mr. Ayman El Ashry affirmed that El Ashry Steel Group carries the “Made in Egypt” label in 28 countries around the world, including Germany, Italy, England, and the United States. He pointed out that the group aims to allocate 70% of the complex’s production for export, supporting Egypt’s foreign currency resources and strengthening the country’s position as a regional hub for engineering industries.
He also explained that the group provides direct and indirect employment opportunities for more than 10,000 Egyptian families, while the “Galva” complex alone offers around 620 jobs for engineers, technicians, and skilled workers.
Mr. El Ashry further noted that the group’s future expansions aim to support the localization of the automotive and household appliance industries, in addition to producing supplies for smart transportation and railway projects, in line with Egypt Vision 2030 goals. He emphasized the group’s commitment to applying the latest sustainability and environmental protection standards within the industrial complex, expressing his appreciation for the visit of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Industry, which reflects the state’s strong support for the industrial sector and the national private sector
