The Coffee Traders Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce held an expanded meeting, chaired by Mr. Ayman El Ashry, and attended by Mr. Hassan Fawzy, Head of the Coffee Traders Division, a number of leading coffee traders, and Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, Director General of Commercial Fraud at the Cairo Supply Directorate. The meeting discussed the latest developments in the coffee market and ways to maintain its stability.

Participants confirmed that the coffee market remains stable and that the reported cases of fraud are isolated incidents that do not represent licensed companies or responsible businesses in the sector. They also stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the Chamber and the relevant regulatory authorities to address any violations.

The meeting also discussed a number of proposals, including expanding awareness campaigns for consumers and young professionals in the industry, exploring the use of QR codes on company products, and responding quickly to misleading information about the coffee market. These measures aim to strengthen consumer confidence and support market stability.

Mr. Hassan Fawzy said that licensed companies and factories comply with the Egyptian Standard Specifications and are subject to regular inspections.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali stated that laboratory analyses of samples collected from various districts across Cairo confirmed their compliance with the Egyptian Standard Specifications and showed that they were free from any additives or adulterants. He emphasized that isolated violations should not be generalized to the entire coffee sector or the Egyptian market.
