The Cairo Chamber of Commerce, headed by Mr. Ayman Ashry, welcomed the Belgian Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Bart De Groof, along with the Trade and Economic Attaché at the embassy, Ms. Hagar Magdy, in a meeting attended by several chamber leaders to discuss ways to enhance trade and investment relations between Egypt and Belgium.
The meeting, attended by Mr. Sherif Yehia, Vice Chairman of the Chamber, Major General Ismail Gaber, Board Member, and Mr. Ahmed Sherine, Chairman of the Investment Committee, explored opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries and identified promising sectors for development in the coming phase.
Mr. Ayman Ashry emphasized Egypt's strategic advantages as a key gateway to regional and international markets, noting the unprecedented facilities provided by the government to encourage investment. He added, "The clear directives from Egypt's political leadership support efforts to localize industry, opening new horizons for expanding local manufacturing and boosting intra-regional trade."
Both sides stressed the importance of trilateral cooperation between the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, the Belgian Embassy in Egypt, and the Egyptian Embassy in Belgium to ensure full coordination and drive trade and industrial collaboration. Mr. Ashry affirmed the Chamber's readiness to provide all necessary information and data on available investment opportunities in the Egyptian market.
For his part, Belgian Ambassador Bart De Groof highlighted the importance of strengthening economic ties between Egypt and Belgium by organizing regular meetings between the business communities of both countries. He said, "Our goal is to enhance trade and investment partnerships and achieve greater collaboration in priority sectors."
The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain coordination between the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and the Belgian Embassy to hold future meetings aimed at supporting economic relations between the two nations, focusing on strategic industries and promising sectors.
This meeting marks a new step toward strengthening the economic partnership between Egypt and Belgium, paving the way for new investments that support economic development in both countries.
