The Cairo Chamber of Commerce, headed by Mr. Ayman Ashry, welcomed the Bulgarian Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Deyan Katratchev, and the Commercial Counselor, Mr. Georgi Nadelkov, in a meeting aimed at enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Egypt and Bulgaria.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Sherif Yehia, Vice Chairman of the Chamber; Mr. Ashraf Khedr, Assistant Treasurer; Mr. Ashraf El-Sheimy, Secretary-General of the Chamber; Mr. Ahmed Sherine, Chairman of the Investment Committee; and Mr. Galal El-Ghor, Vice Chairman of the Committee.
Both parties discussed ways to support economic relations through the exchange of visits and meetings between the business communities of both countries, with the support of relevant authorities in Egypt and Bulgaria. Emphasis was placed on the importance of studying both markets to identify mutual needs, thereby contributing to increased trade and investment exchange.
Mr. Ayman Ashry affirmed that the relationship between Egypt and Bulgaria has been strong for many years. He invited Bulgarian companies to invest in Egypt and take advantage of the available opportunities, highlighting the unprecedented facilitation provided by the Egyptian government to support investors, thanks to the leadership directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The Chamber’s chairman also expressed his hope for establishing joint business councils between the Egyptian and Bulgarian chambers of commerce, which would enhance partnerships and resolve any obstacles hindering economic cooperation.
He noted the Cairo Chamber's readiness to provide the necessary data on the Egyptian market and available investment opportunities.
For his part, Ambassador Deyan Katratchev praised the warm reception and emphasized the depth of relations between Egypt and Bulgaria, acknowledging Egypt as Bulgaria's largest partner in the Middle East.
He pointed out the strong interest of Bulgarian companies in entering the Egyptian market and highlighted the importance of cooperation between the chambers of commerce in both countries, with support from both governments. The Ambassador stressed the need to intensify efforts to develop bilateral economic relations and to promote cooperation in the coming period.
