Mr. Ayman Ashry, Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, participated in the activities of the Egyptian-Greek-Cypriot Business Forum, organized by the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, chaired by Mr. Ahmed El-Wakeel. The forum was held on the sidelines of the tripartite summit between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus.
The forum witnessed the attendance of several Egyptian ministers, including Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and Planning, Dr. Mahmoud Essmat, Minister of Electricity, and Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. Officials from the three countries, over 300 businessmen, heads of chambers of commerce, members of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, and representatives of financial and business institutions were also present.
During the forum, a cooperation protocol was signed between the chambers of commerce of Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus to establish a joint business council aimed at enhancing trilateral cooperation, increasing trade exchange, and fostering joint investments. Representing Egypt, Mr. Ahmed El-Wakeel signed the protocol alongside the Chairman of the Cypriot Chambers and the Vice Chairman of the Greek Chambers.
Mr. Ahmed El-Wakeel emphasized during the forum that Egypt is a land of opportunities in infrastructure, manufacturing, services, and agriculture. He highlighted the forum's objective of boosting trilateral cooperation among Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus, with a broader focus on the entire region.
Mr. Ayman Ashry stressed that the convening of the trilateral business forum following the tripartite summit reflects a shared commitment to advancing economic cooperation and increasing trade and investment exchanges between the three countries. He noted that Egypt, with its strategic geographic location and promising investment opportunities, represents an attractive destination for foreign investments, particularly in strategic sectors such as the Suez Canal Economic Zone, renewable energy, and infrastructure.
Ashry also highlighted the importance of the participation of businessmen and investors from the three countries, where investment opportunities in Egypt and the reform measures that have improved the investment climate were presented, encouraging more foreign investments. He affirmed that Egypt's economic reforms have made its market a promising launchpad toward other markets.
The chamber chairman added that the forum represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen trilateral economic relations and drive economic development between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus, contributing to the expansion of trade and investment cooperation in the coming period.
