Mr. Ayman Al-Eshry, Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and member of the Export Development Committee, participated in the activities of the Egyptian–Turkish Chambers of Commerce Forum, held in New Alamein City under the title “Together for Joint Manufacturing and Triangular Cooperation.”
The forum represents a high-level economic platform aimed at deepening industrial partnerships between Egypt and Turkey, building production alliances, expanding manufacturing for export, and opening new horizons for cooperation in regional and international markets.
In his speech, Mr. Al-Eshry emphasized that the forum is an important opportunity for communication and the exchange of expertise, as well as for strengthening frameworks of joint cooperation in the industrial, commercial, and investment fields, in line with the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which underscore the pivotal role of the private sector in driving sustainable development, maximizing investments, and translating political momentum into practical economic cooperation that serves the interests of both peoples.
He noted that trade relations between Egypt and Turkey are witnessing growing momentum and strong economic dynamism, supported by institutional agreements, including the bilateral Free Trade Agreement, which facilitates the movement of goods, increases investments, and opens broader opportunities for companies on both sides for joint investment and export. He added that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Turkey reached approximately USD 9 billion in 2025, with a target to increase it to USD 15 billion annually in the coming years.
The President of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce affirmed that Egyptian business leaders and national private-sector institutions play a pivotal role in transforming these economic opportunities into tangible industrial and commercial projects, enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products and opening new export markets in Turkey and regional and international markets.
In the same context, Mr. Al-Eshry explained that the forum’s agenda focuses on moving from coordination meetings to a practical executive track, by discussing mechanisms for establishing joint industrial zones, deepening local manufacturing, and enhancing manufacturing for export to African and European markets and free trade zones.
He also pointed out that choosing New Alamein City to host the forum reflects Egypt’s unprecedented boom in infrastructure and industrial zones, providing an attractive environment for investment. He stressed that the strength of Egyptian–Turkish relations represents a key pillar for transforming partnerships into tangible industrial and productive projects.
Mr. Al-Eshry further noted the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding between Egyptian and Turkish chambers to enhance cooperation in several vital areas, including:
-
Trade and investment exchange and the development of joint exports to free trade zones.
-
Technology transfer and training to raise production and educational efficiency.
-
Construction alliances, particularly in contracting and infrastructure sectors.
-
Joint work through organizing exhibitions, business delegations, and applying for internationally funded projects.
The forum also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, the Ankara Chamber of Industry, and the Commodity Exchange in the Turkish capital, aiming to enhance the implementation of previous agreements, expand opportunities for joint cooperation, activate the role of bilateral and regional chambers, establish joint industrial zones, and strengthen maritime and air connectivity—thereby supporting joint investment and exports to regional and international markets.
