Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, and Mr. Ahmed El-Wakeel, President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, inaugurated the main “Ahlan Ramadan” Exhibition in Cairo Governorate. The exhibition is being held at the hall of the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises Development Agency in Nasr City, in the presence of a number of executive leaders and concerned officials. Representing the Cairo Chamber of Commerce were Major General Salah El-Abd, Head of the Exhibitions Committee and Treasurer of the Chamber, along with Mr. Ehab Saeed, Dr. Naglaa El-Naggar, Mr. Ahmed El-Weseimy, and Mr. Tarek El-Sallab, Members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
The inauguration of the exhibition comes in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to expand the establishment of exhibitions and commodity outlets, with the aim of providing citizens with food and non-food goods at reasonable prices and alleviating the living burdens on Egyptian families in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.
The exhibition is held over an area of approximately 3,500 square meters distributed across two floors and runs for 10 days from 10 to 19 February. It receives visitors daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., providing a wide opportunity for citizens to benefit from the offered discounts.
Around 120 exhibitors from major companies and producers are participating in the exhibition, in addition to a large pavilion of the Holding Company for Food Industries and its affiliated companies. A wide range of basic and strategic commodities, meat and poultry products, and Ramadan goods are offered at discount rates ranging from 15% to 30%, contributing to increased supply and market balance.
Dr. Sherif Farouk affirmed the Ministry of Supply’s continued expansion in organizing “Ahlan Ramadan” exhibitions across all governorates, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to ensure the availability of goods in sufficient quantities and price stability, along with intensifying regulatory campaigns to control markets, especially with the increase in consumption rates during the holy month.
For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, stated that the governorate places great importance on expanding the establishment of “Ahlan Ramadan” exhibitions across various districts to provide goods to citizens at reduced prices and alleviate their living burdens. He noted that the main exhibition in Nasr City comes within an integrated plan implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply and all executive bodies.
Mr. Ayman El-Ashry explained that the main “Ahlan Ramadan” Exhibition in Nasr City has become a well-known annual platform for both citizens and exhibitors, thanks to the state’s attention and its continuity at the same location for several years. He also highlighted its strategic location near the Ard El-Maaref Metro Station, which facilitates easy access. He added that the exhibition provides essential and Ramadan-related goods at discounted prices, with continuous monitoring of product availability and diversity to meet citizens’ needs, stressing that citizens’ interests and market stability remain top priorities during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Cairo Chamber's Chairman also extended his thanks to the exhibitors for their role in providing the needs of Egyptian families at reduced prices, noting that the Chamber supports the exhibition by providing booths free of charge, enabling exhibitors to offer the highest possible discount rates. This comes within the framework of the Chamber’s societal role in supporting citizens during the holy month.
