2017 African Prosperity Conference

Place: Accra, Ghana
Start Date: 12/9/2017

End Date: 13/9/2017

The Conference under the theme The Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA) - Exploring Possibilities for Business Engagement across Africa. This event is your event: an unparalleled and unique reunion, where African chambers leaders and their business members, both large and small, from Africa and beyond, will gather to discuss with senior government officials responsible for trade, industry and investment on how to engage proactively with the CFTA.

As you know business in general has so far failed to provide substantive inputs, in terms of information or strategy, to ensure that free trade flourishes. That’s why I believe this is a good opportunity for business to interact with government and other major actors and learn more about how business can be more active at influencing the CFTA than ever before.

Participants will also learn where the CFTA negotiations stand today, on the eve of the signature of the CFTA by member States, discuss the challenges business face in boosting intra-African trade, and how governments can best dismantle barriers and reduce costs to intra-African trade.  At the end we hope that we plan to bring together the main conclusions and recommendations from the discussions to the attention of AU member states.

AU Commission leaders, senior government representatives renowned business and technical personalities, will bring delegates up to date on the latest business issues.  The Secretariat will share with you their profiles shortly.

Please note that some funds are made available by UNECA/ATPC to cover the cost of accommodation and meals. Priority will be based on first come first served rule. More details will be given to you by the Secretariat once you register for the conference. For more information please contact Ms. Melat Mohammed (m.melat@pacci.org ), Group Business Manager.
