Establishing an Egyptian South African Chamber of Commerce at the end of this year

The General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce held a meeting with the Ambassador of South Africa and leaders of Alexandria  Chamber to discuss trade and  economic cooperation within the framework of the Federation’s strategic plan to activate the Egyptian-African economic relations, supporting for the President's initiative to create a logistic hub from Alexandria to Cape Town.

 

Ahmad Alwakil Chairman of Federations f Egyptian and African Chambers confirmed that they agreed to create a joint South African and Egyptian business Chamber to activate cooperation in all axes of the Commerce, industry, tourism and services, and will be launched during the visit of a delegation of Egyptian business community to South Africa at the end of the year.

 

He explained the importance of developing economic relations with all countries of the African continent, and the Alexandria -Cape Town hub is a practical and effective mechanism to develop trade and investment with all African countries.

 

AlWakil said that the talks included the integration between the two countries, particularly in automotive feeder industries, engineering and chemical industries, as well as cooperation in the field of communications, information technology and software localization, and triangular cooperation for joint manufacturing for exporting to free trade zones in each country where South Africa is placed between SADC region for free trade and Egypt is located among the regions of Arab ,  The Euro-Mediterranean, And COMESA, Which develops joint exports for both countries.

 

He added that the talks included South Africa's accession to the Union of African Chambers, Hosted by Egypt and heads its current session, which includes 42 of the unions from African countries.
