Cairo Chamber discusses with the Iraqi Businessmen Union forming a joint business council

Cairo Chamber received a delegation from Iraqi Businessmen Union in Basra, headed by Sabih Habib yosr al-Hashemy to discuss trade and investment relations between the two countries, and means of support them in the coming period.

 

The two sides also discussed the establishment of a joint business council to be economic link between the two sides, and discussed ways of developing commercial, industrial and investment relations and increasing trade exchange, which both sides have agreed upon; to increase the historical relations between Egypt and Iraq.

 

Ali Shoukry Cairo Chamber’s vice chairman stressed that Iraqis Investors should benefit from the investment opportunities available in the Egyptian market, and holding mutual partnerships between the two parties in favor of the idea of establishing a joint business council to be the kernel and the main base of supporting real relationships that result in developing the two countries’ economies.

 

He explained the long history of Cairo Chamber and its prestige among international Chambers, and is considered one of the largest Chambers in the Middle East and represents a diversity of sectors, in addition to more than half a million traders, manufacturers and service performers affiliated to it.  He wished that this visit consolidates the concepts of trade relations between Business communities and institutions in Egypt, and their counterparts in Iraq and participating in trade and economic exhibitions and conferences

 

He revealed during the luncheon held by the Chamber for the Iraqi delegation after  the end of formal meeting activities that he will form a delegation to visit Basra after the end of Eid al-Adha holiday; to promote investment opportunities in the Egyptian market and put all the data in front of Iraqi businessmen on investment in Egypt, and the facilities that the government offered to attract investment opportunities , also to discuss increasing trade exchange between the two countries, which currently do not commensurate with the historical relations between them.

 

 

For his part, Sabih Habib yosr al-Hashemy said that the visit aimed to emphasize the historical relations between the two countries, and support joint investments, especially there is buoyant demand on the Egyptian products in the Iraqi market currently.
