Ahmad Al Wakil: the Chairman of The Federation of African and Egyptian Chambers of commerce confirmed that the Federation of Arab Chambers and the Federation of Chinese Chambers will establish a trade union for all the Silk Road states.

He  pointed out that this comes within the framework of the revival of the Silk Road, which was used in the past for transporting commodities among South East Asia, China and Europe, adding  that it will be based on three main axes, the first axis will move from the north to the European Union through Turkey, The second from the south passes through the Suez Canal and then the European Union, and the third axis, which is currently focused on the transfer of goods and services from that region to the African continent through Egypt.

He said that the new Federation will work to strengthen economic ties between South East Asia and China, and between Egypt and North Africa. The Chinese government has allocated more than 30 billion dollars for investments in ports, roads, railways, logistics centers and services.

He explained that the Federation of Chambers of Commerce has prepared a number of these projects and will be presented to the Chinese side, pointing out that the establishment of logistics centers will turn the storage activity to the assembly industries, adding that China is also seeking to benefit Of the free zones in Egypt to reach the African market, where the final manufacturing processes will be done, which creates jobs and develops the local industry and increases Egyptian exports, especially that the proportion of the domestic component in products will be between 35 to 40%, and may increase.
