Kabil: huge opportunities for German companies to invest in the Egyptian market

In the framework of the visit of President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, to the German capital Berlin, Minister of Trade and Industry Tariq Kabil held a wide-ranging session of talks with Awfi Bakmayer, Minister of State at the Ministry of Economy and Federal Energy, on the future of economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of trade and industry, ways of enhancing cooperation in Africa and benefit from investment opportunities, and the large commercials available in the African continent.

 

 

Trade and Industry Minister said that the meeting dealt with the most important aspects of the current economic and trade relations between the two countries. The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Germany in 2016 amounted to about 5.5 billion Euros. He pointed to the importance of increasing German investments in Egypt which have not yet reached the desired level to suit the investment opportunities available in Egypt and capabilities and potential of German companies.

 

 

He explained that there are huge opportunities for German companies to invest in major national projects, the most important of which are the Golden Triangle project, and the cultivation of the 1.5 million acres in addition to the new administrative capital project and, a million cattle production project, the new Suez Canal axis of development, both in the industrial zone or logistics services.

 

 

 He pointed out that The Government was planning to establish an integrated economic zone project includes many industrial and service activities from waterway to a global industrial and logistical Center for serving the international trade movement and making a qualitative leap in the Egyptian economy especially in promising industries such as electric car batteries, electronics and information technology industries.
