L.E 150 million investments for the first phase of the Household Appliances City

The Home Appliances Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce is completing the steps to set up the first specialized city in the manufacture of household appliances in Egypt as an alternative to import. Ashraf Helal, Head of the Division, said that there is a coordination between investors through periodic meetings of the most important joint stock companies that will start the project.

 

 

The Industrial Development Authority allocated about 150,000 square meters to establish a household appliances complex and the city project of household appliances in Minya governorate starts with 7 factories, at the cost estimated at 350-400 million within five years.

 

 

He also pointed out that the State has interested in the idea of ​​the city and facilitated the rules for financing through the banks and has removed all obstacles by the Industrial Development Authority, headed by the Chairman of the Authority, Ahmed Abdul Razeq.

 

For his part, Hesham Nazih member of the division and one of the investors in the expected city that once operational, the new factories will provide about 700 Employment opportunity and is expected to cover 25% of the domestic market needs of household appliances, which are up to 60% within 5 years, Pointing out that the total investors have so far reached 24 for establishing 7 home appliances factories.
