Yehia Zananiry, head of the General Division of Ready Made Garments of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, said that the summer Sales are continuing for a temporary period despite the end of the official period, which was supposed to end by the beginning of last October, referring to the reason of not achieving the required sales that ranged from20% to 50%, but it is clear that the rate of discounts was not satisfactory to the masses of consumers.

He added that it is not possible to equalize all goods by one reduction, which is 50%, so as not to go the stores of ready-made clothes out of business, pointing to the rise in prices of foreign currencies, which reflected on the prices of raw materials and the final product.

He stressed that the reason of the low supply of winter clothes this season is the loss of most traders and most of them leaving the local market, in addition to the decline in the production of winter clothes from factories.

Zananiry pointed out that the sales were very weak and unexpected due to the increase in prices which correspond to the weakness of the consumers’ material condition, and consequently led to significant decline in purchasing power.
