Food exports knocked the doors of Sudan, Syria and Iraq

Exporters of food products and members of the Export Council of Food Industries have called on the government to support exports so that the lost strategic markets in Africa, particularly Sudan, Libya, Iraq and Yemen, can be restored, stressing that Sudan is an important market but still closed to Egyptian exports .

 

On the sidelines of the Gulf Food Fair, Gulf Food 2018, all export investments in food commodities based on agricultural products are making good progress against the backdrop of the increase in agricultural production from major new projects. They stressed the decline in government subsidies on exports to counter the burdens borne by the exporter during exportation.

 

Ashraf al-Jazairly, head of the food industries chamber of the Federation of Industries, revealed a gradual decline in the value of the state's subsidy to exporters. He stressed that most managers were unable Reimbursement of burdens approved by the state since 2007. 

 

Ahmed Saqr, Chairman of the Committee of Price Variables of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, said that there is a stock of all basic food commodities in general and meat in particular is enough for the month of Ramadan, with the stability of most food commodities and relative decline of some others, pointing out that a large number of Egyptian importers are currently contracting for importing Large quantities of meat, poultry, legumes and Yameesh Ramadan.

 

He pointed out that the prices of some Ramadan products may decline in favor of the consumer, especially the products were available from last year's stores and still have shelf-life. He praised the positive moves of the Central Bank and banks in covering the credits for these imports without delay.

 

Saqr added that the prices of imported frozen meat will continue to decline as a result of Russia's reluctance to import from Brazil. This has led to an increase in the supply of Brazilian meat to Egypt at lower prices and increasing the demand for imported poultry, which invaded the local market recently.
