The total number of investment companies established during 2017 reached 18.378 thousand companies in various sectors. The Egyptian funds were the largest partners in all these companies throughout the year.

According to data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the number of companies established in December last year was 2018 compared to 1,158 companies during the same month in 2016. The data showed that companies established during last December exceeded their capital LE 3.5 billion.

The data showed that the share of Egyptian capital in companies for the month of December reached 66.8% of the total capital, while the share of Arab capital was 16.6%, followed by foreign capital contributions, which amounted to 16.6%.

The companies that were established were among the activities of "Telecommunications, Technology, Industry, Tourism, Construction, Services, and Agriculture". Companies with service activities absorbed the largest proportion of the total number of companies established in December
