Minister of Finance: to complete budget automation in March

Minister of Finance Amr el-Garhy said that the ministry will wrap up the financial plan and build up the Treasury Single Account (TSA), managing an accounting framework at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), and closing down various sub-accounts through the application of the Government Fiscal Management Information System (GFMIS) during this month in cooperation with the e-finance company. As well as dealing with paper checks will be canceled and replace them with electronic transactions. 

 

 

The ministry said in a statement Tuesday that this came during the meeting of the Minister of Finance with members of the French delegation, which includes a group of French companies working in the field of electronic, digital and banking services known as «MEDEF MISSION», in the presence of Ahmed Kojok, Deputy Minister of Finance for financial policies and institutional development , Mr. Khalid Nasif, Advisor to the Minister of Finance for Information Technology, Mai Farid, Deputy Head of the Economic Justice Unit of the Ministry, Gorma Bakun, Economic Adviser, Head of the Economic Center of the French Embassy in Egypt; and Mark Reynard, Head of the Delegation of the MEDEF MISSION to Cairo, and CEO of the Orange Group.

 

 

Garhy said that his ministry has also finished the electronic connection with the Tax Authority to enable presenting tax declarations electronically, to gradually shifting from paper tax cards to electronic cards and advancing the implementation of electronic integrated payment system instead of cash payment using smart cards to enhance Financial Inclusion System.
