Targeting 25% growth of the export sector in 2020

Eng. Mustafa El Naggari, Chairman of the Export Committee of the Egyptian Businessmen Association said that the association is cooperating with the various export councils to support the State's tendency to increase the export sector contribution of targeted growth 7% from GDP by 25% of the total by 2020.

 

 

This came during the meeting of Export Committee, General Authority of Export Development Center representatives, other associations and companies. He added that the committee is aiming at unifying the visions to promote the future of exports, entering specific markets and African markets. Dr. Hossam Younis, Director General of Export Affairs of the Export Development Authority, confirmed that the Authority paid great attention to export development programs and contributed to implementing the state plan. He pointed out that the target is to reach total exports of 30 million dollars in 2020.

 

 

 

Younis pointed out that the plan aims are to increase the base of exporters, the products’ value-added and sustain exports by reducing raw materials exports, also to maintain current markets, and target new markets, besides training and supporting small and large exporting companies to obtain international quality certificates, in addition to Implementing the directions of President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and preparing a special strategy to double the Egyptian exports to the African countries to benefit from more trade agreements, like COMESA and Mercosur Agreements . For example Mercosur Agreement includes four major countries Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, so we can make promotional missions and an Egyptian export week in different markets.
