Security Council tightened sanctions on North Korea

The Security Council unanimously adopted resolution 2397 on tightening sanctions on North Korea and the main points of the resolution are as follows:

 

 

 

- To designate the entities, subject to the measures imposed.

 

 

- It is prohibited to supply, sell or transfer certain products to North Korea, including crude oil, all kinds of petroleum products, some food and agricultural products, machinery, electrical equipment, land and stone products, timber, ships, all industrial machinery, transport vehicles, iron, steel and other metals.

 

 

-The Member States shall block, inspect and freeze any vessels in its ports if exist serious grounds for believing that the ship was involved in activities or transporting prohibited by abovementioned resolution.
