Yaqoub: The Receipt is mandatory in the new consumer protection

Atef Yaqoub, head of the Consumer Protection Authority, said that the new law for consumer protection prohibits the detention of strategic goods prepared for sale. The stored goods and their quantities also must be notified.  

 

 

 

Jacob added that the law stipulates that the supplier must commit to deliver to the consumer a receipt proving that he is dealing with it. Also, it is prohibited to trade or import in a manner that distinguishes between citizens. The competitions may only be announced after the Consumer Protection Authority has been informed of the data specified by the Executive Regulations at least three days prior to the announcement date.

 

 

He stressed that the new law prohibits the advertising of real estate units or land for construction only after due process established by the regulations of this law.
