60% increase in Egyptian exports to the Chinese market during 2017

Minister of Trade and Industry Eng. Amr Nassar held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Song Iguo on the future of economic cooperation between the two countries.

 

 

The minister said in a statement that the current period is suitable for injecting more Chinese investments into the Egyptian market, particularly in light of the political stability that Egypt witnesses these days.

 

 

 

He noted that the trade relations between Egypt and China developed in the recent period, while Egypt's exports of goods to the Chinese market in 2017 reached 408 million dollars, compared with 255 million dollars in 2016, an increase of 60 percent, pointing out that the government is seeking to make Egypt as a commercial hub and accessing Chinese products to Africa and Europe.

 

 

The Chinese ambassador in Cairo said that his country looks forward to Egypt's participation in large part of the activities in the China International Import Fair, stressing its keenness to provide all facilities for the Egyptian companies and ensure participating in the largest possible number.

 

 

He expressed his happiness with the success of the Chinese economic zone (TEDA Egypt) in attracting many companies to invest.
