Egypt is a guest of honor at the China International Fair

Eng. Amr Nassar, Minister of Trade and Industry, discussed with Chinese Ambassador to China Song Iguo the future of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The minister said that the current time is the time to inject more Chinese investment into the Egyptian market, especially in light of the current political stability in Egypt, as well as the strong ties between Egypt and China.

 

He pointed out that the trade relations between Egypt and China have witnessed a great development in recent times. Egypt's exports of goods to the Chinese market in 2017 rose to 408 million dollars, compared to 255 million dollars in 2016, with an increase of 60 percent. Egypt aims to be a commercial and logistic hub for the access of Chinese products to the continents of Africa and Europe.

 

The Minister pointed out that during the meeting, Egypt's participation in the China International Import Fair, to be held in November in Shanghai, China, was attended by 100 countries from around the world and a large number of Egyptian companies working in all fields are going to participate in this important event, which represents a great opportunity to increase Egyptian exports to China, especially under the decision of the Chinese government to be Egypt is guest of honor of the exhibition.
