Dialogue on the executive regulations of the new CPA law

Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ali al-Meselhi stressed that it is only for the basic commodities purchased and sold by the state. This is what has been taken into account in the new law for consumer protection, which takes into account the interests of the citizen whether consumer or producer. Creation of infrastructure for commercial markets, most notably the documentation of trade relations between the parties through the bill in all transactions.

 

 

He explained the importance of the community dialogue in preparing the executive regulations of the law of consumer protection and the Egyptian product. The minister said that the ministry aims to open branches of the consumer protection system throughout the Republic by the end of this year.

 

 

 

This came during a meeting between the Minister of Supply and the members of the Egyptian Federation of Investors Associations in the presence of Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, and Rady Abdulmoatty, head of the Consumer Protection Authority, and a gathering of investors, manufacturers, and heads of investors associations.

 

 

 

The head of the Consumer Protection Agency said that the new law tightens penalties for irregularities, forcing the trader to write the price on the item clearly. The month of August witnessed solutions to more than 9800 complaints from citizens.
