Minister of Finance Dr. Mohamed Maait issued a ministerial decision including binding the tax number of each taxpayer under the name of "tax registration number" for dealing in all tax collection bodies and all tax types, whether income taxes, value added or other, pointing out that they are going to work on updating taxpayers’ data from November 1 until the end of April 2019. The deadline for dealing with the current tax number is 1/5/2019.

 The ministry's statement pointed out that there are a large number of taxpayers in all governorates dealing with several tax figures and files, which leads to confusion in the deal between the taxpayer and the tax authority.

The statement also stressed that this comes within the framework of the comprehensive system for the Tax Authority mechanization and the development of its performance through the legislation which is the draft law on Unified tax procedures and the engineering tax procedures project, in addition to the Tax Authority has recently issued electronic tax card, Which contributes to expanding the tax base and increase tax revenues without moving the tax rate.
