The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Moait, agreed to comprise all types of computers imports, which the education system development is mainly depending on, as well as some capital goods such as soap noodles using in manufacturing detergents, are included in the goods list subject to the customs dollar price (16 pounds).

 The Minister explained in a statement that the ministry has the full flexibility to deal with the variables and decisions according to the actual experience on the ground and within the public interest framework, where He stressed that if one of the goods is negatively affected by the dollar rate of the Central Bank, it will be transferred to the list of the reduced customs dollar. 

The Ministry of Finance has issued a previous decision to continue fixing customs dollar price at 16 pounds for essential and strategic goods from the beginning of December 2018 to 31/12/2018.

The ministry noted that the base in pricing the customs dollar is the Central Bank’s price, while reducing the custom dollar to reach 16 pounds is exceptional due to the economic conditions witnessed by Egypt and the main goal of this decision is protecting the national industry, and creating new jobs.
