Payment of customs taxes by installments, applying pre-clearance system, and “green line” for committed companies

Kamal Negm, head of the Customs Authority, confirmed that the importers will pay the customs taxes   in installments, as well as using pre-clearance system before the arrival of the shipment to release shipments upon arrival in two hours for the convenience of importers.

 

He added that the old customs law is no longer commensurate with the current changes and therefore a new law is being implemented to take into account the interests of the importers.

 

He pointed out that a green line will be allocated for passing shipments of committed companies, using Temporary release system, especially with the raw materials needed for industry.

 

He said during his participation in the meeting of the Tax and Customs Committee in the Federation of Industries, headed by Mohamed Al-Bahi that The Authority has contracted to purchase 72 x-Ray devices and the credits are being opened for receipt , and the purchase of 28 other devices as well. In the second phase the Authority will purchase 46 devices to cover all ports, tighten control and speed the release of shipments.
