The end of the Egyptian exports crisis to Europe in 2019... And Africa is Egypt’s Golden Gate

The Ministry of Trade and industry succeeded in revoking the crisis of banning the FOOD crops export to Europe and a number of Arab countries that lasted for years, by establishing an integrated system to examine agricultural exports and open the way for the Egyptian exports to penetrate and expand into the European markets.

 

 

The year 2018 witnessed an increase in Egyptian exports, which achieved a remarkable increase, the Egyptian exports amounted to 25 billion dollars compared to 22.6 billion dollars last year, While the volume of trade exchange with African countries increased by 21%, and recorded 2 billion and 117 million dollars compared to one billion and 748 million dollars in the same period last year.

 

 

Five export sectors recorded strong growth last year, with exports of books and binders by 39.9% and chemicals and fertilizers by 24.4% to $ 4 billion and $ 507 million.

 

 

The exports of the medical industries sector increased by 14.9% to reach $ 434 million, while the exports of the Spinning and textile sector increased by 10.6%, up to 749 million dollars compared to 677 million dollars, while the exports of ready-made clothes sector increased by 8.3%, recording 307 million dollars.

 

 

The heads of the export councils pointed out their plans to open new markets, especially the African market, after signing the African Free Trade Agreement by Egypt and revoking the ban on Egyptian exports from several countries, including the ban on Egyptian agricultural exports for Sudan for years, but President al-Sisi succeeded in revoking this entire ban.

 

 

The Saudi authorities also decided to revoke the ban on Egypt's exports of pepper and strawberries officially, after an Egyptian delegation visit to Saudi Arabia for negotiation in mid-year.

 

 

The Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry also succeeded in lifting the ban on importing the Egyptian potatoes, where Egypt's exports of potatoes to the Russian market up to 118 Million dollars.

 

 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation succeeded in lifting the ban imposed by Bahraini authorities on the Egyptian crop "Guava", where The Bahrain markets will be opened to Egyptian guava starting from the next export season.
