The rumors that spread recently about lentil carcinogens and the presence of worms in the lentil crop provoked the simple Egyptian citizen, which prompted the members of the agricultural crops division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce to respond and clarify the reality of that rumor.

Ahmed Al-basha Idris, head of the division of agricultural crops, Cairo chambers of commerce, said that what excited about "lentil carcinogen" is totally false, and that the worms could not grow on dry seeds like Beans, lentils and dry Lupine, They can only grow on soft crops such as tomatoes and guava, because they are more suitable for worm growth, so it's very difficult to infect worms or larvae, particularly dry crops and lentils.
