Prime Minister met the Vice-President of the African Development Bank

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli met with the African Development Bank delegation, headed by Dr. Khalid Sharif, Vice-chairman of the African Development Bank, in the presence of Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation

 

 

The Prime Minister opened the meeting by stressing on Egypt's interest in working for increasing the volume of cooperation with the Bank during the coming period in various developmental fields, in the framework of Egypt's presidency of the African Union.

 

 

Madbouli referred to the meeting held on the sidelines of Davos forum with the African Development Bank President. They discussed the proposals of increasing technical cooperation with the African countries in the fields of investment in human capital and digital transformation.

 

 

He praised the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the African Development Bank (AFDB) on implementing a number of important infrastructure projects in the fields of electricity, sanitation and developing squatter settlements.

 

 

For his part, the Vice President of (AFDB) lauded the successful reforms that Egypt implemented in the framework of its economic reform program, pointing out the Bank's keenness to continue supporting Egypt in its reform program.

 

 

The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation pointed out that there is ongoing coordination with the African Development Bank to cooperate in establishing several projects.

 

 

 She noted that a number of international financial institutions expressed their keenness to support the Investment and Support Fund for Businesses in Africa (FISEA).

 

 

During the meeting, they discussed means of activating the agreements between President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and the President of (AFDB) and also discussed the mechanisms of enhancing cooperation with the bank.
