Minister of Investment discusses with Greek delegation increasing Greek investments in Egypt

Dr. Sahar Nasr the minister of investment and International Cooperation stressed the importance of tripartite cooperation between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus as a model for regional cooperation and technological knowledge transferring in many economic fields.

 

 

This came during a meeting between Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, with a Greek delegation chaired by Mr. Efstathios Giannakidis, Deputy Minister of Economy and Development of Greece.

 

 

The meeting discussed the investment climate development in Egypt and the package of measures taken by the government to provide an attractive environment for investment and improving the business environment, which will contribute to enhancing the efforts of promoting the economy and achieving the desired growth rates, and encouraging Egyptian and Greek companies to enter into joint ventures, especially in the fields of electricity and energy, health and infrastructure.

 

 

The Minister also pointed out that the investment map includes a number of investment opportunities represented by national projects, such as the Suez Canal Area Development Project, the new administrative capital and New El Alamein City.

 

 

The minister called on the Greek delegation to increase Greek investments in Egypt, pointing out that the Greek investments in Egypt don’t reflect the volume of strategic relations between the two countries.

 

 

The Greek Deputy Minister of Economy and Development said that the Greek delegation's visit to Egypt aimed at promoting the economic cooperation relations and pump new investments in the Egyptian market to activate the cooperation agreement between the two countries.

 

 

He added that the Greek delegation to Egypt includes a number of Greek companies in the fields of “mineral sectors, chemical, engineering, textile, food and wooden industries, construction, medical supplies, and information technology”.
