Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ali Al-Meselhy announced the opening of the Ahlan Ramadan Supermarket Exhibition in cooperation with the Chambers of Commerce 20th of April to provide food commodities at reasonable prices during the holy month of Ramadan, in the presence of Mr. / Ahmed El-Wakeel, president of the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Mr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the Federation.

 

 
He said that the coordination with the armed forces and the Ministry of Interior to provide basic commodities throughout the Republic and that the commercial chains will display their products under the umbrella of Ahlan Ramadan Supermarket, and that the ministry has a huge strategic reserve of commodities enough for several months, pointing out that the consumer complexes have Huge quantities of food commodities.
 
 
 
He explained that he decided to expand the establishment of exhibitions and outlets for displaying goods in the governorates. It was decided to set up about 250 exhibitions «Ahlan Ramadan» in coordination with chambers of commerce and all supply chains as well as the Holding Company for food industries and food companies producing commodities, The Ministry of Local Development and Chambers of Commerce. There will be more than one outlet in the high-density governorates where 118 ports are being organized from Halaib to Salloum and from Aswan to El Arish, unlike the main exhibitions.The Ministry also has agreed with the Ministry of Awqaf on the distribution of Ramadan packages to the needed citizens and low-income families, where 500 tons of goods will be distributed to families in coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
 
 
 
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Al-Wakeel, Chairman of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, said that the commercial chains will continue the initiative to reduce the profit margin of a group of commodities exceeding 40 commodities to achieve price stability. In addition, a number of collective and individual initiatives, under the slogan «citizen first», adding that it is currently being agreed with great producers and importers of commodity groups to provide sufficient quantities throughout Egypt at prices below market prices.
