The second round of a free trade agreement negotiation between Egypt and the Eurasian Union, held over three days, concluded in Moscow.

The Negotiations started pursuant to the agreements, that had been reached between President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Tigran Sargsyan, chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission, during the meeting held in Moscow last October on the sidelines of the president's visit to Russia.

The negotiations discussed a number of important topics, such as customs cooperation, facilitating intra-trade, intellectual property rights, electronic trade, and investment cooperation, as well as discussing issues related to the World Trade Organization (WTO); the two sides intended to conclude the negotiations on the free trade agreement between Egypt and Eurasian countries by the end of this year 2019.

It should be noted that this agreement supports the intra-regional trade, and it is expected to be contributed to Doubling the volume of trade between Egypt and the Eurasian Union, especially increasing the Egyptian exports to the Union countries.
