45Indian food companies participate in 4th Food Africa 2019 Exhibition

A delegation from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, comprising 45 companies, will participate in the 2019 International Food and Agricultural Industries Fair, which will be held from December 9 to 11 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo. Bilateral meetings will be held between both Indian and Egyptian companies.

 

 

The Indian ambassador to Cairo, Rahul Kolschricht, said that indian food products exports to Egypt amounted to $397 million last year and that India's main food exports to Egypt include beef, tea, cereals and dairy products, while main food imports from Egypt include fresh orange fruits, grapes, seeds and vegetables. Egypt is one of India's most important trading partners in the Arab and African region in 2018-2019.

 

Rahul noted that bilateral trade between India and Egypt increased by 23% to US$4.56 billion in 2018-2019, compared to US$3.68 billion in 2017-2018, and pointed out that India is Egypt's ninth largest trading partner, the eighth largest importer of Egyptian goods and the tenth largest exporter to Egypt.
