President Abdel Fattah El Sisi launched an initiative to stimulate consumption, and encourage the purchase of local products. The initiative aims at increasing the volume of consumer spending in the period from January 2020, to the end of June of the same year.

This comes through Fruitful cooperation between the governmental institutions, which are represented in the presidency of the Council of Ministers, and the bodies representing the private sector, such as the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the Federation of Industries and the Federation of Banks.

The state is going to offer a cash discount rate when buying a number of local consumer goods for citizens with ration cards, in order to encourage citizens to buy the local product, especially consumer goods (durable and non-durable), also all citizens who don't have ration cards can benefit from the initiative by buying at discounted prices using Other mechanisms.

Ibrahim Al Araby, chairman of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, and the chairman of the Cairo chamber of commerce expected that the initiative's goals will improve market movement, Revitalize the economy, and support the national product.
