The Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Neven Gamea issued a decision to suspend the export of all types of legumes for a period of 3 months.

Gamea stated that the approval comes in the context of ensuring the implementation of the comprehensive plan approved by the government to provide citizens’ needs for goods, especially basic commodities, as part of the precautionary measures taken by the state during the current stage to counter the spread of the novel coronavirus.

For his part, Engineer Ibrahim El-Araby, Chairman of General Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) and Cairo Chamber welcomed the decision to regulate markets and provide the Egyptian citizen with the needs.
