Within the framework of the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Commerce in coordination with trade partners in Egypt and the world’s role, increasing the volume of Egyptian exports to all countries of the world, as well as following up the most prominent economic developments,

 

 

And with regard to the recommendations submitted by the Federation to the council of ministers regarding the promotion of the Egyptian cotton crop and restoring its global reputation.

 

 

The efforts of the Ministry of Finance in supporting the Egyptian cotton crop were as follows:

 

- The Ministry of Finance approved on 7/7/2020 to procure an amount of 120 million pounds for the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, and Weaving.

 

 

- The state contributes to subsidizing the costs of resisting cotton pests by 100 pounds per acre.

 

 

 

The Ministry of Trade and Industry also responded with the following:

 

 

The ministry is planning to enable farmers to obtain the highest price, via offering cottons in the daily auction according to international prices, and allowing all merchants registering in the "registry for the cotton merchants" to enter these auctions.

 

 

Hence, the new cotton trading system has mainly contributed to creating a competitive environment that helps move the market and prevent monopoly.
