Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, Chairman of FEDCOC and Chairman of Cairo Chamber of Commerce, applauded Minister of Trade and Industry Nevin Gameh's decision to postpone work on Ministerial Decision No. 273 of 2021, which prohibits the import of dismantled parts. He also praised the formation of a technical committee made up of ministry agencies, in collaboration with the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Egyptian Industries, to review and study the effects of this decision, particularly on Egyptian consumers, with the goal of assessing the situation and taking all necessary steps to protect the national interest.

El-Araby expressed his gratitude for the ministry's decision, as well as the gratitude of the business community, emphasizing that the decision is primarily in the interest of small traders and consumers, who will benefit from market stability.

The postponing of recent ministerial decision  on the import of dismantled parts of the items listed in Ministerial Resolutions No. 43 of 2016 and 44 of 2019, except as a production requirement for factories or approved maintenance centres for trademarks registered in General Organization for Export and Import Control, poses no threat to the national industry.

According to El-Araby, a delegation from the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) met with Minister of Commerce and Industry Nevin Gameh to present the reasons for requesting a postponement of the decision, which was met with widespread understanding and a prompt response from the ministry.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a letter to customs outlets asking them to postpone work on the decision for six months until the technical committee completes its analysis of the decision's market consequences and establishes implementation methods.
