On Tuesday, Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea and Minister of Supply Ali El-Moselhi inaugurated 'Made in Egypt Expo' in Juba, South Sudan's capital, in the presence of the Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan.

The expo is organized by Egypt’s General Organization for International Exhibitions and Fairs.

According to Gamea, Egypt is interested in enhancing joint ventures as well as commercial and economic cooperation with Nile Basin countries in order to benefit from the region's significant economic potential, accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and attain desired economic interests.

She stated, "Organizing such an expo is an opportunity to meet the needs of African markets by giving Egyptian products at a competitive price that satisfy the African consumer's wants."

She added that trade between Egypt and South Sudan amounted $707,000 in 2020, including vegetables, vegetables, sugar, glass, and cotton.

She further stated that Egyptian exporters have enormous opportunities to access South Sudan's market and meet its needs, according to the international reputation of Egyptian goods.

The Made in Egypt Expo covers an area of 1800 square meters and showcases products from a variety of industries, including ready-to-wear apparel, home appliances, medical supplies, and logistics. There is also a booth for handicrafts, which includes nine exhibitors.
