Mr. Ahmed Alwakil- Chairman of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce declared that

ministry of finance issuing a set of new decisions to reduce smuggling operations at the end of January

next month.

Alwakil pointed out during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry Mr. Mounir Fakhry Abdel

Nour, and many commercial divisions, that he reached an agreement with the Ministry of Finance, in

coordination with the Ministry of Interior to determine a mechanism in order to eliminate the smuggling

of goods and products, which been exacerbated during the last three years.

On his part, Mr. Ahmed Za'farani- Chief of General Division of the Readymade Garments Affirmed that

the main demands needed by the apparel industry is to cancel the decision of imposing the protection

fees on imported garments, and  review the technical restrictions and decisions which limit importing

fabrics.
