Opening Of The Union Of Arab Chambers’ 132nd Session In Cairo

Mrs. Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry stressed the importance of the private sector as a strategic and basic partner for economic development plans in Arab countries, noting its pivotal role in linking business strategies to sustainable development in the Arab world, developing a circular and participatory economy, and strengthening regional supply chains through projects.

 

 

This came in the context of the Minister's speech, which she delivered during her opening of the activities of the 132nd session of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Arab Chambers (UAC), held at the headquarters of the new Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), in the presence of President of the UAC Abdullah al-Mazrouei, Secretary-General Khaled Hanafi, FEDCOC First Vice-President Mohamed al-Masry and Secretary-General Alaa Ezz.

 

 

“Egypt has taken great steps towards deepening local manufacturing, increasing export rates, and enhancing the added value of its exports on global markets,” she said.

 

 

For his part, Mr. Abdullah Al-Mazrouei, President of the UAC Abdullah al-Mazrouei, stressed the importance of strengthening trade exchange and economic relations between the countries of the Arab world, especially in the light of the great challenges witnessed by the global economy, pointing to the great role of the Arab Republic of Egypt in unifying efforts and reunification to achieve a qualitative leap in Arab economic cooperation.

 

 

Mr. Mohamed Al-Masry, First Vice-President of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, stressed the need to work on deepening industrialization in Arab countries and standardizing standards to facilitate the flow of Arab trade exchange, as well as the importance of activating the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) to achieve a breakthrough in joint economic relations between Arab countries.
