Cairo Chamber Of Commerce Signed A Memorandum Of Understanding To Improve Egypt-Colombia Economic Ties

Cairo Chamber of Commerce, headed by Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, signed a memorandum of understanding with The Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá with the goal of enhancing bilateral business cooperation.

 

 

The Memorandum signed by Eng. Sameh Zaky, Vice-Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, the Cairo Chamber’s Chairman and Ms. Maria Monica, Vice President of International Affairs of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of Mr. Nicolas Uribe Rueda, Executive President of the Bogotá Chamber Of Commerce .

 

 

Her Excellency Anna Milena Muños de Gaveria, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to the Arab Republic of Egypt, attended the signing at the headquarters of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce.

 

 

Eng. Sameh Zaky stated that the volume of trade between Egypt and Colombia amounted to about 153 million dollars in 2021, an increase of 104% higher than the year 2020, considering the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the two chambers an important step towards increasing the volume of joint trade exchange.

 

 

The most important Egyptian exports to Colombia are: Poly Ethylene Terephthalate , carpets and other textile floor coverings of silk, cotton or knotted synthetic fibers - denim or jeans - Natural Building Stone - polyethylene of specific gravity - medicinal plants - glass fibers, Including glass wool" and other items.

 

 

While the most important Colombian imports to the Egyptian market are: livestock, beef, coffee and its derivatives, seeds and oilseeds, industrial machinery, measuring tools and devices, telecommunications, and audio equipments.
