Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly reiterated the importance of the new National Window for Foreign Trade Facilitation (NAFEZA) and the Advanced Cargo Information (ACI) system in automating the country’s customs administration.

The new customs platform would further promote controlling goods movement, detecting illegal products, facilitating customs administration procedures, reducing clearance times and expediting the review and release of foreign shipments to help promote international trade movement.

The meeting reviewed the position of establishing 7 central laboratories, which will be ready by the first of next July, as these laboratories will contribute to accelerating the examination and release procedures, and avoiding the transfer of samples for examination outside the ports.
