Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Governor of Cairo, praised the role of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, headed by Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, Chairman of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, in implementing the directives of the political leadership, headed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in supporting citizens, providing all goods in the markets, and organising exhibitions and supplies at reduced prices, whether on occasions or ordinary days.

This came during his first visit to the Cairo Chamber in a meeting attended by a number of the Chamber’s board of directors and some members of the commercial divisions to discuss new ways of cooperation to increase the supply of goods, legalise the conditions of street vendors, and support entrepreneurs and all projects, especially micro, small, and medium-sized.

Major General Khaled Abdel-Al and Eng. Ibrahim Al-Arabi inspected the Chamber’s headquarters and the services it provides, pointing out the importance of the Chamber’s dealings with societal segments and its inclusion by all commercial divisions that represent the various activities and their participation in many initiatives and commodity exhibitions to support citizens under exceptional global circumstances and to confront any crises that may arise

For his part, Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby expressed his happiness for Major General Khaled Abdel-Aal's visit to the Cairo Chamber, saying, "We are ready for further cooperation that will make the Cairo Governorate a model at all levels, including exhibitions and markets."

El-Araby suggested the establishment of a joint administration between the governorate and the Chamber, in cooperation with all other concerned parties, to follow up on the market and to seek the abundance and diversity of goods to reassure the cairo citizen.

El-Araby also suggested stepping up collaboration with the governorate to formalise street vendors' working conditions, give them a place to call home in well-known markets where they can conduct business lawfully and feel secure, and integrate them into the official system so they can take advantage of services offered by the Chamber like health care, life and property insurance, among other things.
