President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi participated in the opening of the Egyptian-Serbian Business Forum, in Belgrade, with the participation of President Aleksandar Vucic, President of the Republic of Serbia, in addition to a number of senior Serbian officials and representatives of various relevant government agencies.

Al-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's eagerness to establish economic and commercial cooperation relations with the Serbian business community and companies during the upcoming period and to develop joint investments to support the Egyptian economy. This was done within the framework of joint action to maximise mutual interests and make the best use of opportunities, especially given the availability of many promising investment fields and opportunities in Serbia.

At the conclusion of the talks, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi witnessed the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding and cooperation programmes between Egypt and Serbia in the areas of agriculture, environment, investment, culture and the arts, media, education, higher education, standardisation and information support, as well as the growth of SMEs and micro-enterprises.

A direct flight between Cairo and Belgrade will be opened in the near future in order to speed up the investment process and the signing of the non-duplication agreement, the Serbian President stated, expressing his confidence in the existence of a significant opportunity for cooperation in light of the sincere mutual relations between the two friendly countries. The President, he continued, has directly contributed to fostering relations and has overseen the implementation of numerous enormous national projects under his sovereign authority. He also said that the Serbian people respect the friendly Egyptian people and value the continuity in their shared historical relations.
