The Cairo Chamber of Commerce, headed by Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, head of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, signed a cooperation agreement with the Lahore Chamber of Trade and Industry with the aim of increasing the volume of trade and investment exchange between Egypt and Pakistan.
This came during the visit of an Egyptian delegation of businessmen headed by Eng. Sameh Zaky, Vice Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, to participate in the activities of the second exhibition for engineering and health care industries, which was held in Lahore, Pakistan, from February 23 to 25, on behalf of Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, after the official's invitation from the Trade Development Authority and the Pakistani Ministry of Trade.
Engineer Sameh Zaki met with a number of officials in the Pakistani Ministry of Commerce, as well as heads of the chambers of commerce and industry for each of the cities of Lahore and Sialkot.
A meeting was also held with Dr. Farid Quraishi, Deputy Minister of Trade and Chairman of the Trade Development Authority, to discuss increasing the volume of trade and investment exchange between the two countries.
Since these agreements allow Egyptian-origin goods to be enforced in markets that serve more than 2 billion consumers, Zaky discussed with the Pakistani side how to develop trade cooperation in triple cooperation and benefit from the free trade agreements that Egypt signed with various economic blocs around the world. He also discussed what Pakistani businesses need to do in terms of investments in Egypt.
