Officially, the Nomination Period for the Chambers Of Commerce Elections for the 2023–2027 Term Has Begun

Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Elaraby, President of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) and Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, has announced the start of the nomination process for the elections of the Boards of Directors of the Chambers of Commerce for the 2023–2027 term.

 

 

Beginning on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, and for a period of five consecutive working days, namely "12-13-16-18-19", in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Commerce and Industry No. 109 for the year 2023, issued on April 7, 2023, and amended by decision No. 111 for the year 2023. From eight in the morning until the conclusion of regular business hours, requests to change the date of nominations must be made to the head of the schedule committee.

 

 

Saturday, June 17, 2023, has been designated as the "one day" for calling on voters to participate in the elections of the boards of directors of the Chambers of Commerce.

 

 

The requirements for applicants to run for elections include being an Egyptian citizen. Applicants must be at least 25 years old. Applicants must be able to read and write based on a certificate or in front of the committee. Applicants must have the necessary legal eligibility to practise their trade. Applicants must not have been previously convicted of a felony involving dishonour or dishonesty unless their record has been cleared by presenting a recent criminal status certificate. Applicants must not have declared bankruptcy unless their record has been cleared by presenting a certificate from the competent court.

 

 

Those who meet these requirements must submit nominations in writing to the head of the schedule committee, and a deposit of only 500 Egyptian pounds must be paid to the treasury of the governorate in which the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce is located for running the election.

 

 

A special power of attorney that has been verified by the real estate register may be used to submit nomination documents.
